City and County Approved Floor Plans
Many cities and counties in California offer free ADU floor plans
People always ask me if they can get free ADU plans, and these cities essentially offer free ADU floor plans.
That said, there is a lot you need in addition to a floor plan.
You need a site plan that shows how this floor plan is situated and oriented on your lot.
You need engineers to do structural, MEP, and Title 24 calculations.
And every jurisdiction has specific requirements it might need fulfilled in addition to the items above.
And you want your plans to be detailed enough for your contractor to build the home precisely to plan - some of these floor plans fall a bit short of that level of detail.
